KASNEB Fee Discounts
KASNEB offers a discount for students who pay their registration fees and/or examination booking fees for May examinations between 1 October and 31 December and for November examinations between 1 April and 30 June. These discounts are as follows
Category | Kenya Shillings | US Dollar |
Certificate | 3,000 | 50 |
Diploma | 5,000 | 85 |
Professional | 6,000 | 100 |
Also, an early bird discount of Ksh. 300 (US$ 5) will be given for a section or level and Ksh. 100 (US$ 2) for a single paper as applicable.
KASNEB Exemptions
Another great service that KASNEB offers is the exemption from partaking in exams. An exemption is simply the permission to proceed to acquire certification and proceed with more advanced exams without necessarily doing a low-level certification.
During primary and secondary education, whenever a student wanted to transfer to a new school, they would require to seat for an examination of a lower class to be approved to join the intended class. Alternatively, if one would show documents showing excellence from the previous institution of learning, they would be offered the opportunity to proceed with the new class.
Likewise, KASNEB exemptions are not automatic. For an exemption to be granted in any one paper, the applicant must prove that he/she attempted and passed an equivalent paper whose content at least match that of the paper for which an exemption is sought.
In short, you must demonstrate sufficient coverage of course content in their respective qualifications for you to qualify for an exemption.
You are also required to apply for KASNEB Exemption through the online portal and attach the required documents specified in the form, including certified copies of academic and professional certificates and transcripts.
A clear outline of all exemption cases is provided in the KASNEB Exemption Policy Document
